Julian Assange’s lawyer Jennifer Robinson says Assange is “incredible unwell” and the mental strain of staring down a potential extradition to the United States is a “terrifying prospect”.
Assange has made several attempts to avoid being extradited to the US, and now the WikiLeaks founder has one last avenue of appeal in the UK.
If the High Court grants his appeal, he can plea the case in court, but if it is rejected, he will have run out of legal options in the country where he has long been imprisoned.
“He’s incredibly unwell, he had a terrible illness over Christmas and cracked a rib he’s been coughing so much,” Ms Robinson told Sky News Australia.
“The mental strain of staring down the barrel of a potential extradition to the United States … is a terrifying prospect to everyone.”
