A documentary about Gaza and the connection with the friendship city Tromsø in Norway.
“Friendship Tromsø – Gaza” asked film producer Ashraf Mashharawi make a documentary film about Gaza and the relationship to the friendship city Tromsø. Tell us a different story, we said, something about everyday life in Gaza, about sides of the city that we do not see on television. Under way in the making he told about the work: “We have filmed Gaza beach, camps, markets, streets, the sunrise and the sunset, traditional activities, some Palestinian professions like sweet making and clay workings, coffee shops, and some sad sides of Gaza.” When the film was edited and made ready there wasn’t much room for sad sides of Gaza.
