Basically we knew that Assange wanted to write and host his own interview show and we made it happen.
The show is going to be broadcast exclusively on RT. It is going to focus of course on Assange’s favorite topic, controversy.
You say 2011 was Assange’s year and it undoubtedly was.
His name became one of the most famous in the world.
And indeed it became a byword for explosive controversy when he released the biggest ever set of US secret documents via his website WikiLeaks.
He is going to be interviewing a series of what he calls iconoclasts, visionaries and power insiders.
And he is going to talk about how to shape the vision of a brighter and better tomorrow.
That as I say is going to be broadcast exclusively on RT and we are hoping that it will be as explosive as the release of those documents was via WikiLeaks, we can’t see any reason why it wouldn’t be.
Hundreds of articles from all around the world, local newspapers, international newspapers, everybody seems to be talking about this.
Particularly this morning, of course, the Twitter sphere is alight with rumors about the show, speculation about who might be interviewed by Julian Assange.
And of course he is a massive name, but it is not the only reason why this show will be fascinating.
It is going to be filmed where Assange is being subject to strict bail conditions.
Things like signing into the police station everyday, being essentially under house arrest under these bail conditions for the last 414 days, even though no charges have been filed. The first episode is also going to be shot a week before his Supreme Court hearing to fight against his extradition to Sweden for questioning on alleged sexual assault charges.
So, as I say, loads of rumors about what’s going to go on.
He says it is going to be a new type of television.
Of course he is no stranger to being on the other side of the interviewer’s table.
I interviewed him myself.
